remyzero's News

Thus far this year has had the less submissions from me. It's not because I'm not animating anymore, it's just don't have time to animate my own animations at the moment. I got hired at Kidthing, a startup company in downtown LA, as a flash animator earlier this year, and continued freelancing in the afternoons and nights for the company I used to work for. I also made a huge leap of going from Flash Animator to Flash Programmer recently. I will post the projects in the portfolio section of my website sometime early next year. Anyhow, this is one of 2 animations I had to do in 4 days,2 days each..

I have to say it's my favorite out of the two, and I wish i could have submitted it to newgrounds for the winter flashoff this year, since it would be my first time entering the competition, I am usually a regular for the yearly Newgrounds Halloween competition though. I snuck my name into the stocking on the far right, might not see in the youtube video but can definitely been seen in the free kidthing downloadble app.

There's a lot of cool projects I've worked on for Kidthing, and it's worth checking out. So far, I've animated the book The Lorax by Dr. Seuss, Dr. Seuss's ABC by Dr. Seuss, I've also worked on projects for Garfield, and the coolest flash programming would have to be Garfield Clicker Stickers,(digital stickers you can peel on and off, some crazy stuff). Kidthing is even featured on Garfield.com homepage. "Santa's Surpise" is part of a digital advent calendar, everyday it unlocks a new activity, some of them are simple flash games, others are animations like the one above. I worked on a couple of the games, not all, on some I did some of the art elements, or animations. Lots of cool stuff, even if just to get ideas for your own animations or games.

This is the press relase that goes along with "Santa's Surprise":
http://www.kidthing.com/christmas Find out what surprised Santa in this charming cartoon from Countdown to Christmas - kidthing's free holiday gift to children everywhere. 25 days of interactive holiday fun for kids eagerly awaiting Santas arrival. ...

What do you guys think?

Going Pro means no Newgrounds

This is my first time participating in Pico Day, and to add to the excitement of Pico Day, I'm holding my own contest. My flash animation can be found at http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/
view/437415
The 3 people that can name the most references to other newgrounds characters, either from other people's creations, or even from some of my own flash movies, will win some stuff I will be selling on my website soon. Email me at olmosramiro@yahoo.com with your list.
I was gonna post a picture of one of the shirts with the buttons, and stickers and show off my brand spanking new Tankmen NG Action Figure, but my digicam is no longer functional, I guess when I get a new one I shouldn't carry it around in my backpack. I will be posting some shirts up for sale at my site soon. I started animating flash cartoons on Newgrounds, and now I'm working as a flash animator in LA, so for those aspiring animators, keep on keyframing, and Thanks to Tom and the entire Newgrounds crew, without them, we'd be submitting our flash animations to some other cheapy flash portal.

Hello fellow NG members, I finally have my own website, and along with it, a tiny online store, which explains why I haven't submitted anything lately. I am working on a short film, but don't know when I will be able to finish it. Anyhow, At the moment, I'm selling 1" buttons at 99cents, shipping is only .50cents (outside of US add $1.00 extra for shipping)for up to 5 buttons. These are my own original designs, and I hope to add more items soon. Help a fellow NG member out and buy some buttons, please.

Thank you all for your attention.

Help an NG Artist Out!

Posted by remyzero - December 6th, 2007

I want to thank Luis and Newgrounds for hosting this competition, even though it is not flash related, it is a new venue for many NG artists to express their creativity and imagination outside of a computer, and unable to perform undo's and just deal with their mistakes, that could have been hidden treasures for some and a gian jumbo sized headache for others. This was something I had always wanted to do but just didn't know where to buy these blank toys. SO I thank Luis, and is it ok to post a link to my blog here?
I just find it a lot easier to post a link to it since I can post more pictures a lot easier. The latest post is pictures of the Tiki I sent in for the competition, check it out.

MY BLOG

I have many more ideas for these. I will be updating my blog regularly.

This is the box it hopefully shipped in.

NG DIY MUNNY COMPETITION

Well the response has been great to these 13 Halloween Tips series I have made. Haven't gotten front page for any, and I've only gotten a Daily 4th, but just the feedback I've received makes it all worth it. Some people are being unfair and saying that I released 13 separately for a better chance at winning the halloween prize money, but that is untrue. Halloween is my favorite holiday, so I enjoy making halloween shorts. Last year I made a total of four, this year I planned ONE really BIG one, but it was too much to be able to release all at once, and would have sucked if it slipped through the cracks here at newgrounds, So I decided to release them independently. That way I know which ones people enjoy watching by reading the reviews for each one. Eventually they will all be released as one, but for now, one by one it is. I've really had fun coming up with these, and PEOPLE THEY ARE NOT REAL HALLOWEEN TIPS hahaha. It's a parody of those Halloween tips, so yes some are very random, and they were not done in order. I think Tip 7 was the first one I made, and I decided to change the ending last minute today. It just wasn't fitting in with the rest. Tip 2 was originally for something else, but I decided to change the ending as well. And they all look different because I wanted to experiment with different styles. So Thanks to everyone!

13 Halloween Safety Tips

Posted by remyzero - October 16th, 2007

This year for Halloween I cooked up 13 flash shorts in the form of 13 Halloween Safety Tips. Originally, they were all going to be released together as one big short film, but as Halloween creeps closer and closer, and I wouldn't be able to finish in time, I started releasing them one by one. So far I have released three tips here on Newgrounds. Some are short, and some are longer, it just really depends for what I had going in my head for each one, some are funny, and some are weird. I don't know, I've looked at these for too long while making them. I did start this project in August, making about 1-1.5 films per week. I plan on releasing Tip #4 tomorrow, followed by Tip #5 on Friday. Then next week, i plan on releasing one each day, Monday - Friday. Then I will release the last three the following week, thus Tip #13 being released on Halloween Day.It has been a lot of work, and I hope you guys really enjoy it. Happy Halloween!
